Jim & Jori Manske, Certified NVC Trainer:
In this brief audio, Jim Manske uses a live situation to demonstrate how to use the NVC process in an apology. Jim starts by identifying the four steps to self-connection before expressing your apology:
- Identify what you are apologizing for
- Clarify your feelings associated with the situation
- Identify the need you were trying to meet
- Craft a statement that represents what you’d like to say to the other person
Jim offers a tip as well: One way to express what is in your heart without blame is to start with a connecting request. Listen to this audio and learn more about how to apologize using the NVC process.
