Katrina Vaillancourt, CNVC Certified Trainer and Mediator, delves into the origins of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by exploring the life of its creator, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, a psychologist with a deep-rooted desire to understand human behavior and promote compassion. Growing up witnessing both violence and altruism, Rosenberg embarked on a quest to shift society away from negativity towards a more harmonious existence. This led him to the work of Carl Rogers, whose emphasis on universal human needs provided a breakthrough for Rosenberg.
